Update 013

6.01.2010

As for other things going on for my end- I've begun taking black and white photography for one of my studio classes, in order to finish my credits. I did this before, for only three weeks, in the summer of my junior year in high school. I found I loved it, and before I knew it, my experience in the dark room was over.

I'm glad I decided to come back to it- in doing so, I've discovered a new kind of love for photography overall. I tend to work with digital cameras, so being forced to think with an actual 35 mm camera and rolls of film has really made me stop and think of what to shoot, before going through with the action.

Somehow, using this mindset, everything becomes a new object to discover, to explore. Texture, lighting, location- all of these have made me rethink so much in composition that I would originally overlook as an illustrator.

These three photos were shot on the local business and restaurant street, just a week and a half ago. There was a food carnival going on at the time, and it made the perfect shot for me to take pictures at.

This shot was just taken on a sunny day, the architecture of the city always perks my interest- to see old with new.

Update 012

Long time, no post from me, huh? Sorry, I was busy fixing up things for graduation and the like.

I've started getting back into drawing, and this is more just my own work then my comics, but more fun for me along this way. Sketches for six mini-bookmarks, I'll go over them in ink and color later. I have... I think over 20 more of these to do. Mostly for me, but also a ton for my friends. The first bookmark (labeled Syvren) is a friend's fan-character from one of my stories. The rest are all characters of my own.
